Bee mix, 10 in a bag

Ten balls with a colourful summer-flower mix that does one thing especially well: it draws bees. Fast and slow bloomers are combined so the table stays laid for a long time.

The balls have a light ochre tint, measure about two centimetres and come in a golden yellow cotton bag with a card tag. Inside are calendula, cornflower, phacelia, corn poppy, sunflower, zinnia and around twenty more species — all single-flowered so nectar and pollen stay within reach.

Throw them from March to May onto a sunny, earthy spot. Keep them moist and the mix does the rest; the first flowers open after four to six weeks. As a gift the bag suits birthdays, Christmas, secret-santa rounds — and anyone who has a garden and likes bees.

How it works

Place or throw onto loose soil, water in, keep moist. Do not bury. The first seedlings show after a few days, the first flowers after four to twelve weeks. More on the home page.
