The bag is pure cotton, ten by fifteen centimetres, in teal — that is how you recognise this variety later on. A small card tag with picture-and-text instructions hangs from the drawstring. There is no other packaging, and the balls themselves are nothing but soil, clay and seed.

The wildflower balls are grey because a lighter clay powder forms their coat. Thrown between March and May, the first seedlings appear within days; the mix combines early and late bloomers, so something is open from June well into autumn. One bag covers a balcony box or a good square metre of bed.

  • 10 balls, hand-rolled, approx. 2 cm
  • Cotton bag 10 × 15 cm, teal
  • Around 40 wildflower species

How it works

Place or throw onto loose soil, water in, keep moist. Do not bury. The first seedlings show after a few days, the first flowers after four to twelve weeks. More on the home page.
